Property

Blow Hot, blow cold is how this can be described. One day the prices are touching sky high and in few days, we hear the property bubble has burst. I wish I could write more on this but frankly speaking I still miss a proper Mall and a decent multiplex in our city

Healthcare

All right we are far better than where we stood four years back but we are way behind the latest healthcare facilities in India. I have myself had a harrowing experience at a famous hospital in Rudrapur, where my ligament surgery was done as an experiment, which unfortunately did not succeed (this is off the record J ). We still have to tell our patients in hospitals “Mate. Hold your last breathe, we are taking you to Noida or Delhi” and by the time patient reaches there, he is not always fortunate enough to survive the journey.

Education

There are some schools and colleges which have done fairly well in last few years. I can comment on it because I know their owners and know the pain they have undertaken to maintain the high standards and before you accuse me of Nepotism, I am not mentioning any names J

Overall situation is better than it was before but we definitely need more quality teachers, so as to improve the current quality at all levels

Law and order

Alright before I rub the authorities at the wrong places, let me put it in a single line

“Please don’t recruit Kids as traffic police officers. They hardly can be noticed on the roads and no one cares about them”. On a serious note, the city has grown and with that comes the crime…The big, ugly guys who are involved in petty crimes to big robberies…The city police is always on its toes and works around the clock to ensure that we have a sound sleep during night but then we all are a part of India and when cities like Delhi, Noida cannot be safe how can we expect miracles to happen in India.

Infrastructure

Did I just mention ‘Infrastructure’? Ok I got to stop being sarcastic and concentrate on the job in hand, which is where we stand today and when it comes to infrastructure, let me warn you guys…Before the rain approaches this season, get some boats. You just might be the unlucky ones to have water enter your homes and meet some marine life in your home J and when electricity is a scarcity and roads gets build every year, only to be seen nowhere the next year, trust me there is nothing such as infrastructure.

The only part I am happy about is the new railway station and 3 trains to delhi. They make my life easy and as they say it in the latest Airtel ad “Dil jo chahey Paas laye”. It keeps me well connected to my roots in Rudrapur J
